Study FAQs

What is involved in the HOME study?

If you are a participant in the HOME study you will be asked about you and your child’s physical and emotional well-being, your child’s medications and medical appointments through online questionnaires.  We will also ask you to use the E-Bottle to store and administer some of your child’s medications.

How long will the online questionnaires take?

The online questionnaires should take approximately 1 hour to complete.  If you are participating in the study at a location other than Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center you will be given 2-weeks to complete all of the online questionnaires.  You will be able to log-in and log-out of the website so that you can complete the study at your own pace within that 2-week time frame.

Will anyone be able to see my answers?

Only the researchers listed on the consent form will be able to see your answers.  You will be given a unique user identification number (or ID) and your own password to access the web-based questionnaires.  You will also be asked not to share these questions or your answers with anyone else when on the website.

What should I do if I don’t understand a question?

If you are taking the online questionnaires at a different location than Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, and there is a word or question that is unclear, you can contact your study coordinator at (513) 803-2433 or HOMEStudy@cchmc.org.

What should I do if I have problems while taking the questionnaires or if I get an error message?

If you experience problems while taking the online questionnaires, you can contact your study coordinator at (513) 803-2433 or HOMEStudy@cchmc.org.

What should I do if the medication in the E-Bottles changes or is discontinued?

If the medication in the bottle changes or is discontinued please contact your study coordinator at (513) 803-2433 or HOMEStudy@cchmc.org.

What happens after I finish all the questionnaires?

Once you have completed all of the measures, your study coordinator will contact you by phone to send compensation to thank you for your time and    contribution to the study.

Who do I contact if I have questions?

Most of your questions can probably be answered by your study coordinator at (513) 803-2433 or HOMEStudy@cchmc.org.  If you wish to contact the Principal Investigator of the study, Dr. Ahna Pai, she can be reached at (513) 803-0406.
